Meet Cathy Raphael, Head GUPPI

Author of It's Our Turn to Play!

Cathy Raphael received a BA in art/metalsmithing from Syracuse University and worked as a jeweler for many years. Soon after the birth of her son, she left the metal studio and embarked on her life of play. This, in turn, led to work with an improvisation troupe and roles in a couple feature films. Cathy also tells stories in diverse settings from hospitals and senior centers, to a storytelling school bus and sitting 'round the campfire. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the National Storytelling Network. Cathy is a founding member of GUPPI® (Grown Up People Playing International) and speaks fluent gibberish.

Cathy has been leading playshops for grown ups since 1988.
